Good session last night, and good to see that Dan has aleady got a precis on the BMC website!
Query - the petrol drill. Surely a HILTI 24V or 36V would be more efficient (with obviously additional Lithium M-H or NiCad batteries) without the inherent heat issues around ropes and start up problems of the petrol 2 stroke drill?? Is it just a matter of cost that the petrol one is being used?
Also forgot to ask, who / where is all this equipment being stored - or was what was demo'd indivdiduals personal bolting kit?
Other query was with the corrosion factor of those bolts with the different grade steels in their different individual components - would rubber washers assist in this respect or would this just add another perishable component into the system?
Anyway - thought I'd get a comment in on the wiki site - as wiki is definitely the collaborative authoring way to go.

Hi Nikki, When drilling, the battery drills (using both battery packs) last 20 bolts maximum on nice soft slate on a warm day, to only 4 on the hardest doleritic/rhyolitic stuff found in the quarries, I've not drilled in limestone so I can't comment. The Petrol drill just keeps on drilling, I've not run out of juice yet, even on a full days drilling, so say 50 bolts +
With heat issues its not the exhaust thats a problem its the drill bit, and thats common on both drills, you just learn to tuck it behind you (and not wear shorts)
